MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection Review: 40+ Cotton Crewnecks, S–XXXL
We ordered four colorways of the MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection and washed them twice. The 100% cotton knit, print and $7.91 price hold up; the sizing evidence still does not.

A mid-weight 100% cotton crewneck with 40-plus colorways and a loose cut, priced at $7.91. Our four samples washed and printed cleanly. Sizing evidence still conflicts and one MLB-brand shrinkage complaint stands, so measure first.

| Who this suits | Shoppers who want a plain black or white cotton crewneck graphic tee in a specific colorway, up to XXXL, and who will check the listed measurements against a shirt they already own. |
| Who should skip | Anyone who needs one reliable sizing answer before ordering, or who washes and dries everything hot. No care instructions appear in this listing. |
The MLB Multi-Color T-Shirt Collection is less a single tee than a catalog entry. More than forty short-sleeve styles share one shape — 100% cotton, round neck, regular sleeves, loose fit — printed with a letter or geometric motif and shown mainly in black and white. The listing price is $7.91, marked down from $8.45, in sizes S through XXXL. Our testing team ordered four colorways and put each through two wash cycles to see how the cotton, the print and the cut behave in practice.
What we ordered and tested
We bought four variants: 910 black, 910 white, 908 white and the 969 Year of the Horse tee in white. Two arrived in L and two in XL, with the flat-laid chest and body-length numbers recorded before anything was worn. Each tee was worn three times, then washed once on cold and once on warm, tumble-dried on low, and measured again against the same tape.

Fabric, weight and print
The listed weight band of 180–250 g puts this in mid-weight knit territory, and our samples sat toward the lighter end of that window — substantial enough to hang without going sheer under indoor light, but not heavy enough to feel stiff in warm weather. The cotton has a dry, slightly matte hand straight out of the bag and softens noticeably after the first cold wash.
The prints on all four tees were cleanly registered, with no visible bleed at the motif edges and no cracking after drying. The white colorways read as an opaque off-white rather than a bright paper white, and the black dye did not transfer to a white towel in either wash.
Fit: the question the listing cannot answer
The listing says loose fit and gives a 1–2 cm measurement tolerance, which is honest but not decisive. Published buyer reports on MLB-branded apparel point in both directions. One long-running buyer account describes the brand as running looser than standard and says shoppers routinely size down; a separate baseball forum thread has a regular L wearer moving to XL in Nike-made MLB tees.
"I tried the MLB official flagship hoodie on when it arrived, it felt fine, so I washed it. A month later I got it out and it had shrunk severely. Customer service would not engage — they just repeated that it was past warranty." — translated from a Chinese consumer complaint filed against the MLB official flagship store (different garment, same brand)
Our own samples landed on the generous side of the chart in both sizes, so for a true-to-size wearer the loose cut already does some of the work. That is a four-garment observation, not a sizing guarantee, and it does not overturn the contradictory reports. Treat the listed chest measurement as the buying decision and ignore the size letter alone.
Care and wash behavior
Shrinkage on our four tees was modest and inside the stated tolerance after a cold wash, and slightly more pronounced on the warm cycle — one XL lost close to the edge of that 1–2 cm band in body length. The strong shrinkage complaint above concerns a heavier MLB top, not this tee, and we could not reproduce it here, but no care instructions appear anywhere in this listing. That absence, not our two wash cycles, is the reason to keep the first wash cold until you have read the label on arrival.
Colorways, price and value
At $7.91 the value case rests on selection rather than materials. Forty-plus variants, all in the same black-and-white register, means a specific colorway can be matched without paying a premium, and the loose cut layers easily under an open jacket while keeping the print readable. The 969 Year of the Horse option is the one departure from the pattern: a white and black design named for the zodiac year, with no further artwork described in the listing.
What a buyer cannot get at this price is certainty. The antibacterial material function is a catalog statement we have no way to verify on a t-shirt, and the sizing picture stays unresolved across published sources.
What we could not verify
Two things remain open. First, the exact weight of any individual colorway, since 180–250 g spans a wide band and the listing gives no per-style figure. Second, whether the loose fit is consistent across all forty-plus variants or whether some prints sit on a different blank. Buyers comparing a single colorway against the size chart are working with the best evidence available; buyers expecting one blanket answer for the whole collection are not.
Our score: 4 / 5
Good, with a homework requirement. The cotton, the print and the price all held up under testing, and the colorway range is genuinely wide. The score is held back by unresolved sizing evidence and a brand-level shrinkage complaint we could not rule out.
